25. The small things in the drawers

ariad did this a while ago and now I am doing it because Yuuhy is a trendsetter and I have space to fill up.

1. What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now?

Dr. Bronner's lavender-scented soap. A massive bottle of it. Dr. Bronner is an A-grade crank but he makes nice soap. I want to get the tea tree scent next.

2. Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator?

Okay almost always yes but it's not in season right now so no.

3. Is there anything moldy in your refrigerator?

I have no doubt. I have the worst fridge blindness that's ever been documented in a human, I think, so many of the things I get become moldy.

4. What would you change about your living room?

Would LOVE for it to be bigger lmao. A nice armchair for reading would make all the difference. And it would be nice if the fireplace was functional. Would also love not to have the desk in there; I dream of having a room just for an office/desk so that it's not either in the bedroom or the living room. Sigh.

5. White or wheat/brown bread?

Sourdough counts as white, I guess. The Acme bread sour batard is a regular around here.

6. What color is your sofa?

Teal!

7. What color or design is on your shower curtain?

Mom got us some eucalyptus-leaf-printed shower curtains as a housewarming gift because my dad's favorite tree was the eucalyptus.

8. How many plants are in your home?

At our old place, which was much larger, it was a reasonable number of plants. Now I am constantly shuffling them around to see if I can find an arrangement that makes them feel unobtrusive while also giving them enough light. I did get rid of many when we moved, and recently had to throw out my bird of paradise because it had fucking scale, which infuriates me, because it almost certainly got it from the shop where I bought it and they charged me like $75. Anyway, as of now I have around a dozen plants!

9. Is your bed made right now?

Actually it is which is a rarity. I sleep in later than Joe so he doesn't make it in the morning, and I never got into the habit. I'm trying to, though, because having a bed made improves my mood just generally.

10. Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home?

Glass all the time.

11. How many pillows do you sleep with?

Just one and it is very firm. I need to be as flat as possible.

12. Do you sleep with any lights on at night?

What lunatic would do this.

13. How many ceiling fans are in your home?

None. The heat wave sure was fun.

14. How often do you vacuum?

My mother trained me to vacuum on Saturday mornings, Sunday mornings if there were obligations you absolutely could not cancel in favor of vacuuming. That said, I don't vacuum nearly as often as I should. I'm told you need a floor free of obstructions for that and such a floor is simply too much of a rarity when Joe and I are left to our own devices.

15. What color is your toothbrush?

Dark green. Electric. Harsh and fierce.

16. Do you have a welcome mat on your front porch?

We don't have a front porch anymore. :( At the old place we had a Parks Project doormat that said "leave it better than you found it."

17. Is there anything under your bed?

Probably Anya at the moment.

18. Chore you hate doing the most?

The dishes. I literally cannot function without a garbage disposal because I hate, hate having to touch wet food. Or smell wet food. Or see wet food. Joe is also even worse at doing them than I am so he will usually let his pile up and make the sink unusable so I can't do my own without also doing his, and then I get mad and don't do anything. Toxic habits.

19. Do you have any hidden emergency money around your home?

I have a fat wad of Philippine pesos but you'll never find it.

20. What color are your walls?

White. Just plain ol white. I always wanted to have my walls painted a color, ever since I was little.

21. What does your home smell like right now?

Café mocha because I just knocked my cup onto the floor and it went everywhere like blood spatter.

22. Favorite candle scent?

Wild Fennel by Illuminati Waxworks.

23. Who are in the pictures you displayed?

My parents, Joe's parents, my friends, Therru. There are also a lot of art prints and some landscape paintings by the father of a family friend of Joe's.

24. Do you have plenty of cabinet space in your kitchen?

LMAO NO!

25. Ever been on your roof?

We had a roof deck at our old apartment and I miss it so much. No roof access at the new, inferior place.

26. How many TVs do you have?

Just one and it's quite nice. Shawn let us have it when we all moved out.

27. What style do you decorate in?

Uhhhh vaguely farmhouse/bohemian I guess? I like natural colors/textures and lots of tchotchkes.

28. What temperature in your home is most comfortable to you?

63–66ºF. I like it cold at the baseline and then I adjust accordingly with an electric blanket or long sleeves. But I hate a house that is just ambiently warm. It's the SSRIs.
